I'm a copywriter and blogger in my thirties. I spent two years living in the Southern Hemisphere, from 2001-2003, before returning to the UK and settling in London to work in television production. After three years there I moved to Wales, struck by how similar the landscape, culture and people were to my experiences in New Zealand. I spent the next few years working for BBC Wales across a few different projects including Doctor Who Confidential, Torchwood Declassified and Merlin: Secrets & Magic. I spent almost a decade working in television production before starting my own business as a content writer, working from home whilst renovating and decorating my 100 year old stone house.
I have been sewing on and off since I was a teenager. My Mum owned a quilt shop in old Stevenage when I was growing up and I spent some time there. She helped me make a couple of dresses, but I also liked playing with patterns and spent one industrious summer trying to make my own Star Trek uniform from just a trouser pattern (I almost did it too).
Since moving to Wales I've ended up with a large Northern Inuit, a cat and an old house that needs completely renovating. I've also begun to explore my love of vintage, gathering the courage to indulge my love of history, older style clothing and red lipstick. I began the blog after a vintage day and am still exploring and evolving my own sense of personal style.
