h2h | house update

Once again, it's amazing the difference a fortnight makes. Also, 1,600+ followers on pinterest make a hell of a difference when defending your taste in home decor, especially when up against one mum and her helper. It's not often I win arguments against my Mum, and this one in particular tickled me.

To summarise (so exciting!), downstairs is now mostly done. Repeat. Downstairs is now mostly done. Other than odd bits and pieces, like light fittings, doors to be hung and the hall, stairs and landing to be painted, the downstairs section of the house is now complete. I've even begun moving my stuff back in, which - let me tell you - is a welcome sight after approximately six months of nothing but the internet to amuse me. Don't ask me the things I've learnt through boredom, it's all a little scary in all honesty (and Tyler Hoechlin needs to be banned from my life, I've lost far too many hours on Teen Wolf to really justify myself).

Upstairs, things are coming along nicely. The guest room is all ready for my friend, Lou, who's coming to stay this weekend (hi Lou!). But I'm saving that one for later because the colours didn't come out so well on my iPhone. My room has a painted ceiling and an undercoat on the walls, not to mention some lovely floaty drop cloths that make my bedroom look a little like something out of a Victoriana horror. Things are moving along nicely and, disparaging remarks about my taste aside, everyone likes the look so far. But don't take my word for it, take a look for yourselves.

It's nice to feel like I have a home again, instead of a building site! Mum has worked wonders and I'm so pleased, but I have to admit I'm looking forward to this part because it's aaaalllll mine ;)

Thank you! Yes, it's nice having all my crap back. Within a couple of hours it was a total mess, Mum will kill me on Monday if it's not tidied up again ;)
