february | in review

February has been hard. Going back in to full time work after several years (!) has been difficult, not to mention it's a real world job rather than telly, which is always a little bit of an adjustment. Thankfully my new office is only 20 minutes away, so I don't resent the time spent travelling to and from work. But it has meant that I'm getting less done in the evenings as I'm tuckered out by the time I get home, walk the wolf and throw something together to eat. As a consequence I've not managed to hit my blog target on a couple of weeks, dropping down to two posts instead of three. I've decided not to beat myself up over this, I can't afford to burn myself out and paying clients have to be more important than the blog when it comes to writing. But stay tuned, I have some interesting new things to post over the next few months.

Saying that, I had a girly night in last weekend which I'm going to declare a success but failed to take any pictures of (or get the fire to stay lit). Well, a success apart from my decision to drink two glasses of rosé which resulted in copious amounts of nastiness and pain with none of the pleasurable side effects beforehand. Sunday was not a fun day for me, thank goodness for baked loveliness courtesy of Dorine.

The wolf has managed to conquer (finally) his persistent ear infection, only to get conjunctivitis and then decide that scratching his eye on the doormat would be a good plan and, unsurprisingly, rubbing off all the skin around said eye. The vet just doesn't know what to make of him, other than money in their pockets. Puck, as ever, remains slightly wary of the wolf jumping on him at every movement and is still a little crazy as a result.

NEW BLOGS

NEW BOOKS
None! I defy you to find me the time to read! Although, having now sorted out all my books (thanks to Puck's invaluable help) I can easily see the two or three new and unread books waiting for my attention. Hopefully, at some point in the future I'll find some time to read them.

NEW FAVOURITE THING
My blue bathroom! I've lost my sink whilst the floor and walls are finished (Mum took it out to get behind it and has, so far, failed to put it back after two days) but I have two lovely blue walls. Not to mention a finished bedroom in all other respects. So cool!

To celebrate getting my stuff back, the blog turning three and a belated 200th post, I'm throwing a mammoth of a giveaway. Check out the details and get entering!

Saturday evening was fab Tors, got to do it again! I thoroughly enjoyed the wood burner (although it wouldn't stay lit for long), the film choices were awesome, would love to watch the second one again, soon. And Dorine, if you read this, your home baked Madeleine's that I brought with me home were a big hit the following morning with my little boys and hubby... I did managed to savor two for myself, yum yum x

tors (girl meets wolf)

Definitely doing it again (hopefully with a fire that actually stays lit next time)! We could watch Miss Pettigrew tomorrow night if you wanted, always up for more Miss P!

Cool, I'm up for that :)

You could try colloidal silver on the conjunctivitis. I use it on myself when I get that and it stings for a few moments but the itch goes straight away and it seems to kill the infection faster than antibiotics too.

Ooh, shall look in to it, thanks. Although the skin surrounding the eye is now worse than the eye itself, because of course my wolf can't do anything by halves!

Dorine

Hé hé, glad my madeleines were a hit all way round!!!! Saturday night was so lovely, we have to do it again!!

penny for your thoughts ...
