bits & bobs | valentine's day

I have to admit I get a bit bah humbug about Valentine's Day, mostly, if I'm honest, because I've never had a Valentine. A little pathetic perhaps, and I'm a little bitter, so this year I decided to embrace Valentine's and do a VDay wish list cos they kinda look like fun.

I had the best intentions when I started this, I was going to put together a wishlist outfit because it seemed like a great excuse to ogle pretty clothes and I've never really done it before. Maybe even a wishlist gift list, just in case (I'm ever optimistic). But then I made the mistake of starting my quest on the ModCloth site and things took a bit of a left turn. As this was a wishlist I felt justified in choosing a site that isn't based in the UK. Bad plan Tors! Too. Many. Pretty. Dresses! So with a great deal of grumbling, I've narrowed down my selection and wishlist to nine(ish) of my favourite Modcloth dresses that I think would look amazing for a Valentine's date. Of all the things I do for you guys, forcing myself to sit and look at 2,421 dresses without buying a single one (yet) has probably been the hardest.

By the way, if Valentine's is really your thing then you're going to love notonthehighstreet.com's latest promotion. They're offering five chances for your London based (sorry rest of the planet) Valentine's message to a loved one to be tailored into a 'live' gift. Imagine it, teams of musicians and artists standing by to bring your romantic message to life. How cool! Wow, dress number 5 and 8 are my favourites, but they all look fantastic. I share your view on Valentine's day, it's a nightmare especially in the UK where it is just *too* commercial and shoved down your throat. Ah well, at least on Friday there'll be plenty of chocolates in the reduced to clear sections!!!!

Oh, these are so gorgeous! I don't know how you resisted temptation! I love Valentine's Day-- I usually bake treats for my coworkers and friends to wish them a happy "Pal-entine's" day. :)

Shipping and customs costs kinda helped rein me in a little here I have to admit! ;)
I love the idea of Pal-entine's Day, you're so cool! Why does no one I know do that? Maybe I should start this next year, cookies all round!

I LOVE 5. Actually, who am I kidding, I loved them all, plus around 50 others I could quite happily have included but thought you'd all get bored ;)
Y'know, I'd never thought of a plus side to Valentine's but you've just made it all worth while! Reduced choccies for the win!
