Outfit Post: A Foray To The 40's

It took me a long time to decide what to wear to Llancaiach Fawr on Monday, mostly because I didn't want to end up being mistaken for someone who was taking part in the re-enactments. I knew I wanted to wear a dress, it's so rare that I get to wear anything other than tatty jeans and old baseball tops at the moment, so I wanted to take full advantage of my day out.

I settled on my denim dress (from eBay of course), it's a very soft denim and I do love it, but mostly because it's almost what I want. The fit, unfortunately, is a little off, with the waist a touch too high and the skirt length too short. Maybe I'll use it as a pattern instead. I have to say, though, it looks better on than photographed for some reason, but I seem to find that a lot (or maybe it's just my optimism showing through).

I bust out my flag from the Olympic Torch run through Caerffili in celebration of the Jubilee, my next-door-but-one neighbours beat everyone in the street by decking out the front of their house in Union Jack bunting and with an enormous flag in their front window, very decorative! I hope everyone enjoyed their Jubilee weekend, I was only able to take Monday off, the joys of Bank Holidays happen to people not self-employed!

Thanks for stopping by,

It's a lovely dress, and I agree with Ali denim is so versatile. I like it with the pumps, trainers, plimsols...whatever you call them.
