Old Style BBQ { what i wore }

Thanks for all the lovely comments on my last post, you all sure do know how to make a girl feel good!

I had the luckiest of lucky finds on eBay not too long ago, I've rarely found vintage jeans in my price range and was shocked when a 1950's pair of jeans popped up for very little money. I put my last minute bid in without really any hope of winning them and (rather shockingly) I did! And for less than twenty quid including shipping!

When they arrived I hurriedly tried them on. They're button ups, all except for the top button which is actually a popper. Unfortunately, this has a tendency to go pop every time I bend over. Not a good look! I think perhaps they may be a teensy bit too small for me. That's fine, I intend to hold my breath whenever I wear them!

I paired them with my favouritest of shirts, a lovely checked fitted shirt from New Look that I wear far too much and is, again, a little too small for me (finally I have the frontage of a woman!). I had originally intended the shirt (and the jeans) to be used as patterns for further fabulous clothing but I appear to love them both a little too much to let them take a time out from my wardrobe. I particularly love the pocket detail on the front of the jeans.

There's a little pocket on the thigh in the above picture, just to the right and underneath the back pocket.
Anyone have any ideas what that would have been used for?

I was going to wear this outfit to my parent's yesterday afternoon, they phoned to invite me to their first BBQ of the year. But with the ever popping button and my propensity for eating far too much whenever they have a BBQ convinced me at the last minute to change into something with a lower waist band to accommodate any growth. I'll just have to come up with a non-nom day to wear it again.

Thanks for stopping by,

Oh how cute! And what a lucky find, it's taken me ages to find vintage jeans even relatively in my price range, but for some reason once I found one pair, others seemed to pop up. And I can't say no :)

Not sure about the pocket, but it's a fun little feature :)

Lovely as ever!

So cute! I am so jealous of your ebay skills. Even after your series, I'm still just a massive cheat who just goes to the shops!

Great jeans - even if they aren't able to stand up to the 'all you can eat' test! Have you seen this http://www.craftsy.com/class/Jean-ius-Reverse-Engineer-Your-Favorite-Fit/60 ? I signed up to it and got it for $25 instead of $80 just for registering.
PS - I retrieved the package from post office today. Thank you so much, such a great book and gorgeous, generous giveaway!

They are lovely, you look like you need to go to some kind of 50s diner! A very good find. I have no idea why they would have thet tiny pocket , for one key? Or a lipstick? x

What a great find, that outfit looks lovely! My brother in law has handyman jeans with a similar pocket, which he uses for yardsticks or tools - no idea what they'd be meant for on women's jeans, though...

What lovely high-waisters!! I am not a jean's girl - more on account of body shape that anything else, so I am always envious of those that they suit. So, yeah, green eyed am I of your latest find!
